Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED: 4 JULY 2026By downloading or using Beacon (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Beacon (“we”, “us”) is a service operated by Verino Service LC, a limited liability company organized in the United States (New Mexico).
1. The service
Beacon identifies real-world places from videos and photos you provide, lets you save them as spots, and organize them into trips. Identification is performed by an automated AI system and may be inaccurate or incomplete — results are suggestions, not guarantees. Always verify important details (opening hours, access, safety) independently.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Beacon.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Apple ID or credentials secure. You may use Beacon as a guest without an account, with reduced backup features.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit content you do not have the right to submit, or that is unlawful;
- attempt to bypass usage limits, reverse-engineer, overload, or abuse the service or its identification backend;
- use the App to infringe others’ rights or for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or limit access if the service is misused.
5. Subscriptions (Beacon Pro)
Beacon Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offering unlimited identifications and premium features. A 3-day free trial may be offered.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription auto-renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings.
- If a free trial is offered and you subscribe, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase.
- Prices are shown in the App and may vary by region. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
6. Third-party links and bookings
Beacon may show links to third-party booking or map services, some of which are affiliate-tagged (we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you). Those services are governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for their content or transactions.
7. Your content
You retain rights to the media and data you submit. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the service (identify places and store your saved spots).
8. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and its trademarks are owned by us. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that identifications are accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any reliance on identification results. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be subject to the courts located in New Mexico, unless applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
